XPS 15 Laptop keyboard question

a few questions on the XPS 15 Laptop keyboard (http://www.dell.com/us/p/xps-15/pd.aspx):

1. can the row of keys to the right of the ESC key be configured to act as F1-F12 keys directly through the BIOS or something? i don't want to have to hit FN+1 to get F1 as example but rather just hit the key above the 1 key.

2. does the keyboard have an embedded numeric keypad? ie: you press FN+J and get 1, FN+K get 2, etc.?

3. does the keyboard have dedicated Insert and Delete keys (ie: you don't have to press the FN+ combination)?

somehow all of this is almost impossible to learn from the website or sales chat.

thanks!

got a response via voice from dell tech support that the sales photo on the website is incorrect. the row of keys to right of the ESC key are dedicated F1-F12 keys with various FN+ combination controls. he also indicated that the keyboard did have the FN+ numeric keyboard support and dedicated Insert and Delete keys.

if anyone who has this machine could cooborate this that would be great.

thanks,

i have an xps15 in hand so..

Insert and Delete are their own keys.

the Function keys have a choice in bios, you can require the FN button to make them work like F1-F12, or vice versa.. you can have it ether way you want it.

There is NOT a function key keypad in the middle of the keyboard like the old xps.  As far as I can tell the numeric keypad ability is totally gone.  It was a suprise to me, but theres no indication on the keyboard as to wear it should be, and holding down FN and typing randomly in the qwerty keys does not produce any numbers.

i went ahead and got the xps15 and really like the keyboard. however, i simply don't understand why they don't keep the embedded numeric keypad functionality. does anyone have a good alternative method of inputing special characters on the fly? it'd be great if there was an app that would change the long press repeat function to an on screen pop up of alternate characters as with the smartphones.
