Does Dell presently have a laptop with i7 3rd gen 3610 CPU with Blu-ray burner?

XPS 15 no longer supplied with Blu-Ray burner.

You can probably buy one and fit it yourself. With the old XPS15 this was relatively easy as it has a tray load optical drive. All you had to do was take off the bottom panel (where RAM is) and take out 1 retaining screw then put the new drive in and replace the screw and panel, remembering to swap the silver bezel from the old drive to the new one.

I am not sure how easy it is with the new XPS 15 as this is slot load, but a top of the range Sony optiarc blue ray burner costs about £60 or $100.

You just need to work out the model of drive fitted presently then get its dimensions and find a suitable BD burner drive to fit, and the instructions how. There is normally a pdf download with instructions on how to do this on the dell site as well as you tube videos if you search.

Hi gatr64,

All Dell laptops ship with a BD Combo drive that can read Blu-ray disks and write to DVD’s. I suggest you purchase an external USB Blu-ray drive and use it to write Blu-rays. You can purchase the drive from the following link:

I hope this helps. Please reply if you need further information.
