XPS 15z Screen Resolution
For anyone who has purchased the XPS 15z with 1080p display. What are the other screen resolution options (with 16:9 ratio) when you go to the screen resolution control panel. Is there a 1600x900? or only the 1366x768 option. Dell sales/tech support cannot obtain this information for some reason.
Thanks

I also get only 768. Have been with tech support on the line and accessing my computer remotely for literally 1 hour and they can't figure it out. Starting to wonder if they didn't install the low end screen even if I paid for the full HD.
Did you solve it on your end?

A 1080p screen has 1920x1080 resolution. To see what your screen resolution is, go to control panel, click "appearance and personalization", click "adjust screen resolution" in the display section. In the resolution drop down menu it will show a recommended resolution - that is your screen's native resolution. If it is 1366x768 then you don't have a 1080p screen.

Did you get the answer to this. I have to buy XPS 15z 1900x1080p, and i also want to know what other
screen resolution it supports. Somehow the chat experts, told me it will support only 1900x1080p
that means I cannot adjust the resolution, which is very strange.
Is it true?

Thanks a lot for ur quick answer. I have asked the Dell guys and they are saying it doesnt support lower resolution.
Either they are not able to understand or I dont know whats the case. They say only XPS 15z u cannot adjust resolution, rest in other models you can. Will try again. Lets see
Yeah I understand 1080 is not readable, that why my concern was that lower options should be supported.
Its good that ur laptop has been replaced and now you are finding it good!!

Yes I had it resolved.
As strange as it seems the computer I had received had been built with the wrong screen. 'Luckily' (what an irony) the webcam didn't work either so that helped me convince Dell to change the entire unit. It took me several days of 'support' and them telling me it was only meant to support a low resolution and that the Nvidia card kicks in only for gaming (huh??) so I would not see higher res in everyday programs. Once they saw the webcam was kaput, they accepted to change it altogether so that was the end of the screen b.s.
I got the new unit now and it works really well. It supports 1080 and OF COURSE the resolution can be adjusted. I have mine at 1600 x 900 since I find things unreadable at 1080 (I have a 27'' monitor so I the laptop's screen is only secondary)
Hope this helps, good luck.

In my case that was exactly what had happened, even if the support group kept saying it is normal for a 1080 screen to only give 768 (huh???).

I ended up buying the 15z before I got any answer to this question, so I can now provide the answer. It does have 1920x1080 and 1600x900 resolutions. The 1080p is great if you have young eyes (or reading glasses). The 1600x900 is okay (slightly fuzzy) but not great. So far I am sticking with 1080p (and reading glasses for some programs)
