XPS 1730 - Problem using MS Pro with card reader ricoh R5C833
Hi,
My memory card reader integrated on my XPS 1730 not recognized the memory stick pro. Actually the card apeared in the explorer but when I want to read it, windows (vista 64) ask to insert a memory card!!
My driver is obtained on dell support, A02, but it recognize only the memory stick card, not the pro ones.
Could anybody help me?
Thank you

gabidospi:
You will need to obtain newer Ricoh card reader drivers for your Vista x64 based Dell XPS M1730 laptop.
the existing Ricoh drivers mentioned on the XPS M1730 downloads page (R168331) won't recognize high capacity memory stick pro cards.
Try installing any one of the following drivers:
R215879 - Ricoh R5C847 / R5U241 Memory Card Drivers (All OSs)
R234107 - Ricoh CardReader Win7/Vista(Driver)
Even though those drivers don't mention your Dell model, those newer Ricoh card reader drivers should work on your laptop.
At least any one of them did work on my mother's Dell Inspiron 640m notebook computer (Vista Home Edition 32bit).

I am having the same problem with 8gb Memory Sticks and have tried all sorts of drivers. My laptop is the M1330 with the R5C833 Ricoh chipset. On the early drivers Windows 7 (64bit) just asks me to format the drive but newer drivers just hang when the card is installed. All drivers seem to install ok and work with SD cards.
What I don't understand is why the original Vsta 32bit drivers work ok with the larger capacity memory sticks but not the 64bit drivers?
