Hi,

My motherboard is replaced last week and I was testing it till today. It seems that the problem was related to the hardware (motherboad) failure. After replacing new motherboard by dell my system is stable with the latest drivers from Nvidia and Intel.

Also the screen flickering/flash is gone.

Regards

Antonio Cardile

Same problem here. I've been using it for half a year, and this problem just appeared out of no where in the past few days. I thought updating the BIOS would resolve the problem, but it just made it worse. It turns from flickering -> shutting down one in a few times to every time I restart/ wake the laptop. I really like this product but I'm really frustrated with this situation since most of my work rely on this laptop and I don't have an alternative.

Thank you.

same issue with model 9560, 4k screen

Just downloaded new driver this morning and keeping fingers crossed.

(I think my screen just flashed once very quickly but not the full blown flashing with bar codes)

EDIT : After an hour of excitement thinking it is fixed, the screen flashing and bar code effect started!! Machine being returned. Very Sad.

I received my XPS 9560 on Monday and experienced the same issue.  I then installed the Bios patch, the Intel Graphics Driver patch, and the latest nVidia drives which seem to have helped.  I will monitor my system to make sure that if the flicker comes back I will call Pro Support to get them to look into the issue.

From past experience with the ever evolving PC technology, I know that this is a graphics timing issue between the OS, video drivers, and Bios.

Did you install the 378.49 Nvidia driver?

I have also installed the latest bios 1.1.3, Intel 630 (21.20.16.4627) and still sometimes (not very frequent) I still get the flickering.

@ Datasense:

The screen flickering won't be fixed by updating BIOS or graphics Drivers. Actually, the only way to reduce my screen flickering was to turn off the Intel display self refresh option (power options in Intel graphics settings). But this is no real fix though.

@Swarmpough: did not fix the issue for me.

As I stated, this is no fix. It just helped me reducing - not resolving - the issue.

There's a new BIOS update available as of today (v1.2.4) but the changelog does not indicate any fix related to this issue.
