XPS M1330 Power Button and Multi mediabacklight keys
I just purchased the New XPS M1330. I love it and it's a wonderful little machine. I just have one question and I can't find the answer around this forum anywhere.
I notice when you first turn on the laptop, the power button lights up, but then the blue light disappears. Also the back light under the multi media keys will only light up when you touch them, then disappear also. Is there anyway to get the blue lights to stay on? Sometimes when I am in a dark room and need to adjust the volume, I can't see them until you tap around. Seems funny to have it only light up after you touch it instead of the need to see what you are going to touch.
Any information you can help with, would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I know what you mean, I almost wish the keyboard would light up too. But I realized why they don't do this, cost aside, it would consume too much battery life.
The power button and the MediaDirect button will not stay lit, they only light up when pressed. The Power LED, HDD Acivity, and Battery LED are in the front of the system, next to the audio jacks.
Sadly it took me a while to realize this as well. ;)

Thank you for your reply. I agree 100%. I would have loved to see the keyboard light up as well.. I definitely would have paid more for that.
Lots of times, I do work while My husband is sleeping, so am in the dark..lol
Would have been nice to have these things light up so you can actually see what you are looking for instead of having to tap around the darn thing in hopes you hit the mute or down instead of volume up..lol
I love my M1330 regardless, I have the white one and it's really sleek.
Thanks again.:smileyhappy:

No problem. As a suggestion, perhaps you could look into a USB keyboard illuminator?
http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/accessories/5a84/ (Check out the Action Shots) That's just an example, I'm sure other such products exist.
