XPS M1530 - Volume control buttons

Question

Ok I have a small problem with the Mute button, it has stopped working. Nothing happens when I press it, it lights up and shows the small pop-up but it does not mute/unmute the sound. I can still manually click on the volume button and mute it though. The increase and decrease volume buttons work, it is just the mute button that does not. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, is there a way to fix it?

Using Windows Vista Home Premium

just get in touch with dell. they will get the whole media button replace for u.

I am having the same problem with my XPS M1530.  Have you had any luck getting it fixed?

I am also having the same issue, I am wondering if it is a result of a windows update? (happened after an update)   I have an XPS M1530

My mute button suddenly started working again.  I havn't done anyting or gotten anyting fixed, it just started working like normal again.

Yeah the same thing happend to me. After I had restarted it one time the mute button was working fine again. I didnt do anything and it somehow fixed itself. But it has happened again, and it's the same as last time. I guess a simple restart may fix the problem. If not I'll post again.
