XPS M1530 : problems and only problems
Hello,
I wish to to formulate a complaint seeing Dell doesn't have a complaint department. Since I've got my laptop, a few years back, a Dell XPS M1530, I've been encountering problem over problem.
I've sent my computer back on multiple occasion (over 10 times), and each time they changed components within my computer. The problem was fix and then after a while, another problem occurs and my computer has to be shipped again.
It seems like all my components inside my computer has been replaced twice (motherboard, hard drive, heat sink, cpu, disc drive, keyboard, ...).
In the last two week, I sent my computer twice and I have to send it again for a third time for several issues. I spend hours over hours talking to tech support during all this time and I'm fed up.
I bought a Dell XPS thinking it was a good brand and bought the garanty hoping for good support. My brother paid half the price for his Asus computer and it works better than my own computer. It seems like my computer is defective or the piece I get are defective. When I bring up the subject of a defective computer and if it`s possible to escalate the matter with the technician or their supervisor, I'm get treated to the same comments that I have to send it in and they will fix it. Each time I send it in, the problem get fix, but something breaks a few months after. I've got the feeling that Dell is wasting my time and is waiting for the garanty to be over so they can finally say it's my problem. I already know that my computer will start over heating after a few months, seeing it's an ongoing issues since I've bought it that takes time to come back after the cpu fan, cpu and heat sink has been changed.
I'm thinking of just telling you guys to keep the laptop and I'll get something that works. I just want a laptop that works. I asked to be switched with an equivalent model : another m1530 or something. Maybe what I have is a lemon or something. No one cares in Dell. They are happy wasting my time. To spend hours over hours on the phone and to have to send my computer for days if not weeks at a time shouldn't be the norm.
I'm a computer programmer, being around computer is not new for me. Each time I get back my computer I have to reconfigure my computer and do a million of windows updates, this takes time. A computer programmer without a computer is unacceptable. You guys are paid for the support , I'm not paid to be on the phone with DELL. I came to know my service tag perfectly and know a few technician by name. For me it's a waste of my time and effort.
Sorry to throw in all my fustration of dell on you. but it's annoying dealing with Dell.
I'm writing on this forum, hoping someone can offer some more help than sending my computer in for a millionth time. I still have around a year left on my return to depot garanty and what I want is just a computer that will work without any error for more than a few months.
Thank you,
Steven

I may be able to help. Please shoot me a private message, just click on the link in my signature and then click start conversation. In the message please include the service tag of the notebook, your name, address and phone and I will be happy to look over the case history and research possible service options.

Me too. I am sending my back for the third time for overheating issues and CPU fan failure. I have full time school online and now I won't have a laptop again! I would appreciate a different laptop also because this one is no good.
