XPS M2010 Video Card *Problem*
Hi,
I was wondering if anyone knows if Dell is planning on releasing a better video card for the XPS M2010.
Also, post here if you would purchase a better video card for your XPS M2010. (maybe it will help it happen :p)
Thanks in advance

....and the official Dell response is....silence. Here lies my increasing fustration with Dell. I love my machine, i just don't want to feel that i am wasting my money. Please Dell give us some kind of response on this. This is not fair we are good customers. we are not asking anything unreasonable.
LOGIC TEST: A Customer that buys a $4000 laptop can afford and crucially will buy expensive high end upgrades!! these in turn will be more valuable than the replacement purchase strategy you seem to employ currently and removes opportunity cost factor of this market moving elsewhere-- hello?
We like protecting our investments-how many times must i rant on this forum. How many times must we be ignored before we get a quantifiable response from someone empowered with an answer?

I'm sorry you are having video problems, Might I ask ? How much Run time is your system getting daily, and what are you running ? Games, video or just office type stuff.
As for my system it is like 1-8 Hrs a day and I have Yet to have any problems with mine. I got it before Blu-Ray drives were available so I got Dell to sell me one and they rolled it in to the warranty I went with the 4-Yr complete care. I baught mine in Nov. 2006.

Yep.....My video card took a dump too. It would not boot. Only a flashing bluetooth light (8 flashes). I trouble shot the thang and it appears to be the video card.
Interesting BIOS issue -
When the card was plugged in, the error occured, but the fans did not come on. The video heatsink got smokin hot !!. I removed the video card and rebooted. I got the same error, but at least the fans came on. This tells me that when the video card fails on boot, it will catastrophic fail eventually due to heat.
It's not easy finding a new card (other than from Dell for $300+ in which I'm sure it will fail eventually). Dell should at least fix the BIOS not to fry the card if it does not boot.

I know this is a old thread but I wanted to say this may not be Dells fault. It is very hard to get a vender to produce a video card for such a low volume of sales. So blame ATI and NVidia would ya?
Peace.
