XPS M2010 & Video Problems...
Hi all - I just got caught up on all your posts. I too have the XPS-M2010 & until recently I loved it! Purchased back in 2008, no longer under any service contract & I retired to the Philippines, so not much luck on getting it fixed here either. :emotion-6:
I don't seem to have the same problem that most of you are describing - Mine boots up and the video is not 'black/missing' ... but it is, for the most part, impossible to to make out anything on the screen - picture this - divide the screen into 1/2" squares and jumble up the squares on each row - that is what I get! Now I will admit that there are times when I can boot it up and it works, for a while, which leads me to believe it is a heat problem. I have been able to get it to work long enough, w/good video, to make fresh backups of everything I need and get it onto an old 4600C that I have. I was going to try a small external fan, anyone think that may help?
Any other suggestions from anyone will be tried! Anyone know if I can order a replacement Video Card/Thermal-Cooling Assembly for XPS M2010? Can't seem to find anything like that on the Dell site - don't know if it is worth it but the one that's in there now is the original one and lasted a bit over 2 years...
I have always been happy w/my Dell desk & laptop computers. But now that I'm in the Philippines, well I may just have to re-think that idea! LOL
Thanks for letting me rant!
Ciao, Lou

Hi Loudema,
Welcome to the Community. The video card nees to be replaced on your system. The XPS is not supported in the Phillippines and they do not carry stock parts for them. You will need to reach out to a Dell Distributor in the Phillippines, below are the contacts in your country.
Thank you
Royan

Thank you Royan - this helps a lot - I live in Makati (&Tagaytay) so it looks like I have some clear options now. Ciao, Lou
