XPS doesn't see XM2 camcorder with firewire or USB
Not sure if I've messed up my firewire port setting when trying to connect the old PC direct with a Net Adapter... BUT the laptop doesn't see the cam at all. It's a new 4 to 4 cable and the XM2 cam is on via the mains. I tried with an old USB cable (that fits) but it doesn't see it with that either.
I would do a System restore right back to before but it might mess up some other stuff? Any way of just resetting the whole firewire set up..? I did try updating driver but no joy.
Also I've just done Properties > Repair in Network Connections - it comes up with 'Windows could not finsihing repair of this connection because the TCP/IP settings have not been configured.....' YET I have just plugged in my external HD 6>4 firwire and it sees it fine!
What's going on? Is the camcorder faulty?
Please help.
thanks

XPS M1710
XP Pro
2Ghz
2gb ram
FIXED
Tried daisy-chaining through the external HD... within about 90 seconds the cam was registered as well, so I presume it's just sloooow to see the bugger...
Ok, next problem...
