XPS notebook system restore?

Question

Sorry if I am posting in the wrong forum but I need to know how to do a system restore for my XPS (first gen) notebook. It didn't come with any software to do this so I need to know the quickest way to restore this notebook. Any help would be apreciated. Thanks.

If it shipped after July 15, 2004, CTRL-F11 at boot.

Well I turned off my computer and continuously hit ctr+F11 and it just booted up like normal. Nothing happend am I doing something wrong? My computer was shipped Oct. 2004.
