XT2 Latitude, card reader problem in Windows 7

Recently installed Windows 7 on a Dell Latidude XT2

Everything seems to work except for the SD card reader.

I installed every driver I could find, updated the Bios also, but no change.

In device driver there is one issue still, "Other devices 5880"

It might be the card reader, but the provided driver from Lite On (R220860.zip) is not possible to install.....

Anybody have a solution for this ?

EDIT:

The 5880 was for the fingerprint reader, found that one.

Now I don't have any issues in the device manager at all !

But still nothing happens when I insert a SD card in the slot.....

I had a similar problem. It appears that when running on battery and the Power plan is "Extended Batery Life" the Card Reader is disabled. This can be corrected easily by changing the Power plan settings (in Windows 7: Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options -> Select a plan and choose "Change Settings -> Change advanced power settings -> Dell enhanced settings -> Media cards and 1394 devices). Let's hope it works for you as well.

I had the same problem: it turned out that I had to enable the Media / firewire option in the BIOS

Changing the power setting away from Power Saver (in case you don't have the Dell power management) also enables the SD card reader - Yay! and Thank You for the advice!!!
