Xps l1702x bios diagnostic error 2000-1046
Hello on my XPS l1702x windows 7 wouldn't load anmorei on the bios diagnostic I got error 2000-1046 HDD short test failed.
1. Removedoth HDD 1 and 2 was able to extract the data to my other laptop with a special software.
2. Did a complete (not fast) format on both HDD.
3. Reinstalled HDD and after reinstalled recovery cd went well. Again windows wouldn't load up.
4. And after using bios diagnotic same message error 2000-1046 on HDD 1.
Could that be the mother board?
What is next please?

It's not the board -it's the drive that has failed. At least the boot drive needs to be replaced (though if both are system original, it wouldn't be a bad idea to replace both drives -- if one has failed, the other is the same age and has the same duty cycle on it, so it may not be far behind).
