cant adjust brightness
my dell inspiron 5558 is log off while pressing f11 or f12 for brightness adjustments

What operating system? That can make a difference. The top row F keys toggle between functions depending on using or not using the FN key-see your manual since diff computers have diff instructions. Try using the FN key with the F11, F12.
