dell inspiron keyboard not working
hi,
i have a dell laptop inspiron 15 with window 8.1 and my keyboard has stopped working. External keyboard is also not working and so is driver updating. mouse touchpad is working.

Hi,
Can you try onscreen keyboard?
Also would suggest you to plug any other USB devices(HDD or Flash drive) to check if they respond at least.

onscreen keyboard is working and yeah usb devices woks fine

Hi,
Can you try system restore to the date it worked fine?
If that doesn't work, Backup the data from the machine and try refresh.
Let us know if that works.

This worked for me the 2X in happened on my brand new 1 month old Inspiron 15 5000 laptop
1) shut down laptop
2) remove power cord AND battery
3) press start button 10 sec to drain all possible power
4) plug in power cord and restart laptop
If all goes well, remember to shutdown and remove power cord before putting battery back in. I have not tried restarting with battery in but if my keyboard freezes 3rd time, I will
