hdmi input not working

Hello, The hdmi input in my laptop Dell Inspiron 5537 is not working. It was in the past. I tried to connect a monitor to it but it's not detected. Hooked up the monitor to another computer using the same hdmi cable and it works. Any suggestions other that taking it to the shop? Thank you.

Marvest, Reinstall the chipset drivers, reboot and install or update your video card drivers in the system and reboot. Try the connection. Inspiron 5537 Drivers, Downloads and Manuals
