help status lights and indicators not working right

I have an inspirion N5110 laptop.

Once a month I run the computer on battery until the battery is drained then I recharge it.

I do this  to keep the battery strength up.

Yesterday I did this and when I plugged the charging unit back in the battery status light on the front ofthe computer that shows the laptop is charging did not come on.

The other 3 lights the power, hard drive and wireless lights are a very very dim white. I can see these staus lights in a dark room but cannot see them when there is light on in the room.

Hi,

Welcome to the Community. Does the system boot up to windows? Remove the Battery and the AC adapter, press and hold down the power button for 15 seconds. Then connect the ac adapter alone and try powering on. Check if there is a light on the ac adapter when connected to the system.

Thank you

The system does power up to windows and seems to work well.

I have removed the battery and then powered back up without the battery.

There is a faint white light on the ac adapter light the hard drive light and the wireless light.

There is nothing on the battery light.

I can not see the lights in a lighted room I can only see the lights when they are in the shadows or the room lights are turned off.

When the system is charging the light does not come on to show that the system is charging.
