hw can I change the screen resolution in a Latitude D600

Hi all,

I'd like to increase the screen resolution for my laptop (currently is 1024x768)
I don't see any option in the BIOS.

Any comment is welcome.

Thanks
Mario

Control Panel > DIsplay > Settings > Select Resolution

Be advised that the max resolution for an XGA monitor is 1024 X 768.  If that's what you have then that's all you get....

Hi,

My D600 can not display more than 1024 x 768 on the "internal" LCD display. This is a limitation of the display.

If you connect an external display that can display a higher resolution, that will work.

PS.

In my oppinion 1024x768 on a LCD display below 17" is the best resolution for evryday use anyway, if you want to run higher go for a bigger display. I have seen laptops with 15" LCD that run higher resolution, but the text is just to small, well for my eyes anyway ;)

Just my 2 cents.

Actually 1024x768 looks HUGE on LCD screen > 14".  Because of the sharpness of LCD, higher resolution looks better (acceptable) on LCD than CRT monitor of the same size.  Don't forget that 14" LCD has about the same screen size as 15" CRT.

Hi,
I have the inverse problem...
I have a D600 Latitude with the resolution 1400x1050, but the size of the text and the icons in task bar is very small.
If change the resolution to 1024x768, the size is better, but the quality of images is very low.
How I can correct this? Regards,

Control Panel --> Display --> Appearance, change Font Size to Large.  Btw, this will not increase the size of all fonts.  Click Effects, and there is an option to use large icon.

This is not the best solution, you should have gotten D600 with XGA (1024x768) if you need LARGE fonts.

Download and use the Dell Quickset utility. We use it here because the resolution is so high and the icons seem so small (at least for me, over 40). Every LCD operates at its optimal resolution the best. When you change the resolution in an effort to change icon size, the video will appear blurry. With Dell quickset in the taskbar, simply clicking on the icon will open up a list of things you can do, basically shortcuts. On that list is icon size. You can change the icons on your desktop to a larger icon size from here without changing from the optimal resolution and causing burry video.  Good luck.
