The SigmaTel STAC9750 chipset is an AC '97 CODEC with SPDIF support (via D/Dock and D/Port only) and headphone amplifier. Features include:

  • Full duplex stereo 18-bit ADC and 20-bit DAC
  • AC'97 rev 2.2-compliant
  • SPDIF support
  • SigmaTel Surround (SS3D) Stereo Enhancement
  • 90 dB SNR line-line
  • No internal Microphone !!!

Hope this helps

Rojo,

The Sigmatel has a lot of input and output possibilities, including inputs for 2 mics, usually implemented as the external mic jack and an internal mic. Whether a computer manufacturer chooses to use either, neither or only 1 of these mic inputs is not a limitation imposed on the manufacturer by the Sigmatel chip.
