inspiron 1720 blank screen
I purchased a inspiron 1720 in July of last year at a cost of 650 pounds.Two weeks ago while my wife was using it it crashed,now it wont turn on there is no lights .I have tried another adapter but get nothing still.I also noticed that when i plug the adapter into the back of the laptop the LED light on the adapter goes out anyone got any ideas

The mainboard is faulty and will need to be replaced.

If you decide to replace it make sure you get the right one. There are 2 different motherboards, one has the integrated video and the other does not. If you are still under warranty then they will know which to use.

The warranty ran out 2 months ago how can i tell which motherboard i have sorry but im still learning about computers and my age dosent help!!

Do you know what video you had? If you have the nVidia 8400 or 8600 then you do not have the integrated, meaning you have a seperate video card. If you do not remember then you can look at your invoice as it tells you what video you have.
