inspiron 7559 4K display (16GB ram, 960m GPU )

hi, how can I disable the graphics card auto switch (from onboard to dedicated)

I want to use only the dedicated GPU (NVidia 960m) on my laptop.

thanks in advance

If that's the case (as is common with Insprons), this system is software-controlled - the Intel GPU alone has a connection to the screen and handles all video data -- even if it's processed through the nVidia GPU.  You cannot disable the Intel GPU nor make the nVidia GPU the primary one - the hardware is wired such that the nVidia GPU is a co-processor - not a true discrete GPU.

Check the system setup for an option to disable optimus.  If it's there, you can do that.  If it's not there, you have a muxless system that's software controlled and the integrated GPU cannot be disabled.

F2 at powerup.

thanks for the advise, could not find optimus, so went to bios via F2 but bios options do not include display adapter at all.
