keyboard volume not working

Question

I have reinstalled the windows XP Home Edition on my Inspiron 8100 and now the keyboard volume control is not working

rapptap,   Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.   You will need to install the Dell Audio driver for your system.  The native Windows XP driver will enable the sound, but does not enable the volume buttons.  The Dell Audio Driver for the Inspiron 8100 does enable the volume buttons.

Is Dell Access Direct available for all systems? I have the Inspiron 8500, but I could not find it available for download.

I asked if Dell Access Direct is available for all systems and mentioned that I have the 8500. The install information says that it only available for up to the 8200.
