maximum RAM memory for a Dell Latitude CPi D300XT......

i have 64mb of RAM in my Latitude, but i was wondering what the max is. i need to go up to 128mb of RAM or possibly 256, if it's a possibility.

(i'm not sure if i have two 32mb or one 64mb--i'm new to this, so i'm not quite sure).

thanks for any help. :)

You can go up to 256MB of of EDO RAM (2 x 128MB modules), however they are pretty hard to find, and if you go the eBay route, they tend to be more expensive than SDRAM.

Just be careful when buying EDO RAM on eBay.  Make sure it is:

144pin
non-parity EDO RAM
3.3V

If the auction doesn't state any of the above, make sure that it came from a Dell Latitude CP or CPi D series laptop (not the CPi A's or CPi R's as those used SDRAM).

If the auction doesn't state any of the above, or if the seller doesn't even know, I would pass on the auction.  I have bought several duds on eBay that way.

thank you very much for the info. i did check ebay, but i wanted to play it safe and check here first (i'm glad i did). i did see a few auctions for it, but i don't recall if it had the things you listed in the auction description. where would the best/easiest place to get at least 128mb of RAM for it?

i'm just looking at them right now, but i do want to upgrade sometime soon.

thanks again for your help.
