need to find TCP/IP version 4

I cannot connect to my wireless since I changed my password on my router.  My internet provider works with TCP/IP version 4 and it no longer appears in my settings.  I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop.  I was given several options to try but they all entail using the internet to fix the problem and as I said, I cannot connect.  My IP address was not correct but I have fixed that problem by resetting it.  How can I get my version 4 up and running again?????

Hi Pansy22,

It seems the system is still trying to connect to old wireless profile after changing the router password. You may remove the old wireless profile and create a new profile. Please follow the steps mentioned below:

  • Click ‘Start’ and select ‘Control Panel’
  • Open ‘Network and Sharing Center’
  • Click ‘Manage Wireless Networks’
  • Remove all wireless networks showing in this list.
  • Restart computer and reconnect to your wireless network.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted with the findings.
