network cable is unpluged while network is plugged in.

Hi,
why error: network cable is unpluged while network is plugged in correctly?

I have insprion 5150, I had no problem with my Local Area Network and Bradcom 440x 10/100 during the period of time that I was using it.

2 weeks ago after I update my Microsoft Windows XP, and it installed Microsoft Dot Net 2.0 and few other security updates, and restart my computer, my Local Area Network starts giving my network cable unplugged error every 30 minutes.

In this case I would try to disable the security options you installed for testing purposes. then roll back the drivers for the network card. you may even uninstall the software you put in. Get the system back to the way it was before the upgrades and see that the network is back on line. then add the upgrades one by one . One of them has probably diabled the networking through the drivers for the card or the protocols.
good luck
