power supply interchangeability

Hello there everybody! I hope someone can answer my question quickly...

I left my power supply for my XPS 1530 laptop somewhere. I have an old Dell power supply, but now I'm wondering if it will work or cause my computer to explode into a ball of fire.

Looking up my computer here at Dell support, it indicates that the part number for my power supply is DF771. That's probably unhelpful as we all know Dell has like 12 part numbers for everything. Anyway, the extra one I have is PA-10 family, DP/N: DF266, PA-1900-01D3, model no.:LA90PS0-00. Ok, this is a 90 watt power supply that outputs 19.5V 4.62A. I'm hoping you will tell me that yeah they're all the same. I can't find the output requirements for my computer here in the sea of strange information we call Dell's support site.

What do you think?

The PA-10 will work.

Here's a bit about the differences between PA-10 and PA-12 laptop chargers.

Please note that with the family there are many revisions, though specs have
stayed the same

Yes, a PA-10 90W will work with that system.

Great! Thanks for the info. I was actually able to get my power supply back today and the one that came with my computer turns out to also be a 90W (voltage and amperage the same) and even also a PA-10 family. So, great. I have a spare!
