The AMD GPU is neither a card nor true discrete video.  It's a coprocessor chip on the mainboard - it works in tandem with the Intel GPU, which is part of the processor.  Only the Intel GPU has a connection to the screen, so all video data passes through it on its way to the screen (so Windows always sees the Intel GPU as active).

If you've set the games to run with the AMD GPU, they should be doing that - though there are plenty of games that aren't written to support hybrid video.

The only systems that still ship with true discrete video these days are the Alienware and high-end Precision mobile workstations - all of the mid-range and budget systems (yours qualifies as budget) are hybrid.
