problem installing driver for 1395 wlan minicard

I don't know if this is the right place for this post, but putting it in the network forum didn't make much sense to me. Anyway, I recently had to wipe my dell inspiron 1520. Everything was working fine except for the wireless networking, the light on the switch didn't even turn on. the driver for the card wasn't on the cdrom dell included with my laptop, so I went to download it from the site. halfway though installation I get the error message: [Error 'Update.cpp 827' has occurred and setup cannot continue]. I put in my service tag so I'm pretty sure it's the right driver (its the dell wireless 1395 WLAN minicard driver).  I need to use the wireless network because our router and modem are in my roommate's room and i can't be in there on my laptop whenever I want to. your help is appreciated

Make sure you've installed the Dell notebook system software and the chipset driver. Without these, the network driver won't load. Under system utilities and chipset at support.dell.com for your model.
