"No External Display is Attached" graphic won't go away!!

I've read some answers to this here and searching through Google. I've tried a few of the steps, however, nothing helps my situation.

When I start/re-start/open the top of my 1545 laptop I get that message in the middle of my screen. Eventually it tends to go away on it's own. Sometimes after a few minutes, sometimes hours.

I've tried to find a service or process to shut off. No luck.
