re enable touchpad when mouse is disabled

hi,

I have a problem with windows not recognizing that i have turned off my logitech
bluetooth mouse.

if i turn off the mouse put the machine into suspend and then starts it it is acting as
it should but if turn off the mouse windows still marks it as still connected. i haven't
checked the behavior with a real usb mouse and i suppose this most probably
has something to do with the bluetooth driver in windows.

I have tried to search for solutions but i apparently is the single one on the planet
having this problem or i'm searching with the wrong keywords :emotion-2:

any pointers is greatly appreciated

Hi  Fredrik,

It could be an issue with the Bluetooth driver.

Post your system model number.I will check if I can find an updated driver for the Bluetooth card on your system.

Thank You

hi Nikhil,

Yes the touchpad sw is there and it is configured to disable the touchpad when my bluetooth mouse

connects. This works.

The problem is that if i turn of the bluetooth mouse the touchpad isn't re enabled. and as it isn't enabled

i cannot do anything with the touch sw.

I want a solution that:

1. detects that the mouse isn't there anymore and enables the touchpad again.

or

2. gives me a keyboard way to tell the computer that the mouse isn't attached anymore. this solution

should preferably keep all settings as is as i most probably want to reconnect the bluetooth mouse

again.

/Fredrik

Hi Fredrik,

Dell touch pad is managed by touchpad software. Once you install the touchpad drivers, the software would get installed. You can access the same by getting into control panel -> Mouse. You may as well access it by clicking on the touchpad icon on the bottom right corner of the taskbar.  This Dell multi touch software would have the option of enabling disabling touchpad when an external mouse is connected.

Please check for the same and see if that helps.

Hi Fredrik,

There should be a problem with the touchpad and Bluetooth drivers which is not allowing the computer to detect the Bluetooth mouse when disconnected. Uninstalling and reinstalling both the drivers will help.

Here is the link to download the touchpad driver for Latitude E4310:

Click the link above follow the steps below to download the drivers:

  1. Click “Get driver”.
  2. Click “Continue”.
  3. Follow the on screen instructions to download the drivers and install it in the computer.
  4. Restart the computer to save change.
