kelsbels79,

It would appear that your puppy managed to press CTRL + ALT + (a directional) Arrow.
Ctrl+Alt+right arrow is a keyboard shortcut command to rotate the entire display on your monitor 90 degrees. (Other arrows rotate the display 180 or 270 degrees.)
To return your display to normal, simply experiment with Ctrl-+Alt+arrow to rotate it back the needed amount.

Right click on your desktop, choose graphic properties...
Look for Display Settings, and then look for a checked box that says Enable Rotation. Uncheck that box.
By disabling rotation, you take away the chance of this mistakenly happening in the future.

**Note: The steps may be different for different computers and graphics cards, but the key is to disable rotation.

tone8081,

Thank you for using the Dell Community Forum.

If you have the Nvidia video card you can try right clicking on the desktop and choosing Nvidia Control Panel. Once it is opened click on the area that reads Display and then Rotate Display. Make sure the settings is set to Landscape. If needed uninstall and reinstall the video card drivers.

What if you don't have that video card?  I cannot figure out how to fix this...my puppy jumped on the keyboard on my laptop and changed my startup screen...so frustrating!

I also think that the mouse arrow goes too far to the right...

Any advice or solution?  thanks
