sleep problem

After i downloaded installed,amd drivers,when the laptop goes into sleep mode,it don't turn off,power light is still on,and wireless light is still on,and fan still blowing.and wont respond to anything other than holding the power button....

It was doing the same thing when i try to just shut down the laptop it would just do what the above says..it would only respond to holding the power button ..can this be fixed or am i just stuck with this problem..
