No, but you can report it to Dell as stolen, and if anyone ever calls in for service on that laptop, they'll get their phone number and address and then report them to the police. Unfortunately, there isn't a magic microchip that Dell can track to find missing laptops. :)
i believe you can purchase computrace for any laptop..... Look in the Electronics and Accesories Section when you do a search for computrace on the dell Website

There is nothing that can be done to trace your computer it it wasn't equipped that way ahead of time. You need to file a police report, report it as stolen with Dell, and make a claim with your insurance company.
call aol and cancel it, it's too late now but next time put a bios password on your bios setup,laptop and hardrive and they can't get it started. really sorry about your loss.

Since the account information has been stolen, and the computer it is on as well, then the police should be able to get the information from AOL about where the call is connecting to, and possibly from. If the "thief" is dumb enough to call AOL from their house, the police might be able to get enough information from AOL to catch them, or at least to narrow-down the search...
I wouldn't hold my breath on this one, but there is a chance that you can at least help catch the thief before they can steal anyone else's notebook.
One more laptop stolen. I mean there should be something that DELL can track from the service tag numbers. Do you think it will work if we tell DELL the service tag number of the stolen laptop and than they try to find it once it gets online?

No. They will not do it for you. That's not the business they are in. If you fill out the form AFTER you filed a police report, they will flag it so if someone calls for support they will call the proper police department.
It's the customer's responsibility to safeguard the computer with locks, bios passwords, tracking software, etc.

Thanks for your support. I did call aol about tracking and they said they couldn't even do it if the police were involved because of privacy issues.
We're continuing to try any avenue, so if you think of any thing else, I would appreciate you help
