top processor speed this computer can handle

Question

I have an Inspiron 1100 with a celeron 2.2 ghz cpu. What is the fastest cpu I can put in this computer that will work properly? What are the pros of p4 vs the celeron? I would like to do a 2.8 or 3.0 cpu if I can. Can I?

It uses a desktop P4, on a 400 MHz bus only- fastest still available is a 2.8. The P4 is a much better performer than the Celeron because of the larger cache.

If I put in a p4 2.8 ghz 533mhz, I am under the asumption that is will stil work, it will just run at 400 mhz. Is this correct? Also does the p4 use more battery power then the celeron?
