touch pad not working inspiron n5110

hello

i have tried almost everything and i am unable to find solution please guide me further.

i have tried uninstalling and again installing dell alps touchpad driver from dell website and this didnt worked. i have also tried to reinstall windows but still the problem is same. in device manager it is only showing hid compliant mouse that is my external mouse. 

kindly help me if anyone knows more solutions.

What operating system are you running?

Try safe mode (F8 before Windows loads).  If the touchpad works there, it may be a driver issue.

More likely it won't -- in which case it's a hardware fault.  Replace the palmrest assembly.
