usb port driver needed
Hi - I purchased a USB flash driver yesterday - and I tried to save some pictures to it. The message says I need the driver. I used my drivers and utilities disk and that didn't have it. The message then says I need the C:\Windows\System disk and I moved this summer and can't find it. I need this file USBNTMAP.SYS
I am running windows ME as my operating system. I have the OEM number for Windows.
Help - Thank you

Hi Taurus- I tried the directions twice and it is not working -
I get into the wizard and then search for base2.cab - the location of the file is C:\windows\options\install
type - cabinet file
I find the base2.cab file and then I get stuck -
May I call you so you can walk me through this?
Thanks - Sally

Hi - I tried this site and am unable to access a driver - the san disk site says I don't need a driver for windows ME
I need the windows driver C:\windows\system usbntmap.sys
I can't find it anywhere -
I tried the microsoft site and can't find it
I tried the message from Taurus and it doesn't work - I get stuck at the step of the folder - the folder C;|windows\options\install is not listed

Hi - This is for windows ME - however the site might work for all others
go to site www.usbman.com/Drivers%20and%20Patches.htm
please pay attention to the capital letters D in drivers and P in patches
Once you are on this site - scroll down to almost the bottom and you will find several downloads
I was instructed by Dell staff to down load all the choices - and did so except for usbaud? that one didn't work
I downloaded all the rest in C:\system some of the files were usbstor.inf and usbntmap.sys
Hope this helps - Sally

Hi to all who are having trouble with the drivers for the USB port
Do not try the following sites - they don't work
usb-drivers.com
driverguide.com
driver.com
Try this site - www.usbman.com/Drivers%20and%20Patches.htm
I highlighted the capital D and capitol P cause it doesn't work if you use small case letters.
Good luck to all - this was a 5 hour endeavor
