xps 13 touchpad settings

Pls help..! After downloading and installing the latest touchpad driver for my xps 13 (ver..2.5.1.41) all the functions work correctly except each time I shut down and start up again it forget my settings for the touchpad. It just reverts back to the default settings. I did not have this problem before with the old ver driver and it won't let me roll back to it....??? any ideas as it's driving me crazy....

Hi Baffuls,

You may uninstall the updated driver restart the system. Then you may install the driver from the link: http://dell.to/18iLGIV. You may update the system BIOS, please refer to the link: http://dell.to/15JGY0C.

Keep me posted with the results. I will be glad to assist further.

Many thanks for your help..... I've downloaded the driver from the link, restarted and installed but it still reverts back to the default settings for the pointer speed under sensitivity, strangely though the double click speed under the buttons tab maintains it's settings.

I tried to install the updated BIOS but I get an ERROR 242 This is not a valid supported System..... Not sure what's going on, any suggestions please?

Thank you for the latest information, the BIOS update was successful, and I've uninstalled, restarted and installed the latest drivers too. Unfortunately I've still got the same results. The pointer speed on the trackpad settings keeps reverting back to the default setting after a restart, strangely the palm rejection manages to keep it's setting though. Any more suggestions please would be helpful

Hi Baffuls,

You may uninstall the touch pad drivers, restart the system and install the previous version of driver. Please refer to the link: http://dell.to/16MNBBI.

You may perform system restore to restore system setting to a previous date. Please refer to the link: http://bit.ly/yNxo6m.

Keep me posted with the results. I will be glad to assist further.

Hi there!

I've done a system re-set and started from the begining, also installed three previous versions of the touch pad driver and on all occations the Pointer Speed reverts back to the default setting on system reboot. It is strange how the other settings for the touchpad save ok for e.g. the palm rejection sensitivity? this is a very frustrating problem as the mouse moves so slow that I've got to open the interface at each new start up and reset the pointer speed to make it useable.

Reading throught the forums I can see that there has been lots of problems with the touchpads on the Dells generally, although not many people are talking about the re-setting default on the pointer speed, have you come across this problem many times?

Your support is much appreciated

thank you
