I would suggest you to try flashing the BIOS on the system. Please enter your service tag # on the link below, select the operating system, and then download the BIOS from the BIOS section onto the system and install it.
Thank you for your response. I found out that downloading microsoft keyboard layout creator opening it and then closing it and rebooting solved the same problem for another person. I tried that and my problem disappeared.
Although I didn't use your advice as I had managed to solve the problem, I really appreciate your prompt and helpful response.
