A dark circle and stuck pixels! Help!

There is a dark circle (ring) on my Inspiron 600m lcd screen, of the same size as Dell's  logo.  It's located at ~ exactly the same spot but on the other side, where Dell logo is located.  This dark circle is very noticeable on a light/bright background; it's hard to notice on a dark background.

Also, some stuck pixels also formed close to the dark circle.  I think there are more than a hundred of these stuck pixels.  They are only visible on dark background but it's not noticeable on a bright background, such as white.

I'm wondering if these are covered under Dell warranty or not.  BTW, is there anybody else who has a dark circle/ring on his/her screen too?  I'm pretty sure that this is not a not software, but a hardware issue.  (Maybe the 600m plastic case/lid is the one that caused these problems.  I'm planning on replace the 600m lid with the D600 tri-metal alloy lid - does anyone know if they might be able to replace each other?)

Lastly, while I attempted to fix these problems, I accidentally broke that little projecting LCD on/off switch/stick.  Do you think this is cover under the warranty?  My warranty is only the most basic one.

Thanks in advance,
Heart

A display with 1 to 5 fixed pixels is within the industry standards, and is therefore considered an acceptable display. Now, since you mentioned that you get a dark circle the same size as the dell logo, I believe that would already put your LCD outside industry standard. All you need to do is just call tech support and have that replaced. I also suggest that you run the PSA (Pre-boot Self Assesment) Test just to verify if problem occurs outside the OS. Just press F12 during boot up (while you see the Dell logo). Then you would get several options, one of which is the diagnostics. Just run that and see if the problem will occur during the diagnostics. If it does, it would indicate a hardware problem most likely the LCD

I don't have the stuck pixels, but I do have the two-inch circle that is directly behind the logo and is the same size and shape as the logo.  Obviously, something is pressing on the monitor from behind.  It is only visible when a solid color is being displayed.  I have the widescreen monitor.

DELL, please address this issue!  Otherwise, this Latitude D800 is great!

Please address my previous question.  The circle is becoming more obvious.

Call Dell tech support and arrange a service! They should replace the screen and check to make sure it is not going to get the same problem (ie: will make sure the logo is not going to press against the screen again).
