APIC not enabled??
I have a Latitude D600 and am having problems with a Cardbus peripheral. The manufacturer says it needs its own IRQ and that I should have 23 IRQs with a modern computer. From my research, they are assuming I have APIC I/O enabled, and it appears the D600 uses PIC.
It seems that the Linux crowd is able to enable APIC on the D600, so I assume the hardware is compatible. I'm wondering why there is no option in the BIOS to enable APIC. Is there any way to enable it on Windows XP Pro?
I've seen similar questions on this forum with no answer. Does anyone have this information?
Thanks,
Deron

With the new dual-core (APIC) systems coming out (D620, D820) this question begs for an answer from Dell:
Will there be an APIC BIOS for D600?
If not, a lot of people will be creating new images these days or doing not supported improvisations. While we could've "swallow" running PIC image on D610, to support multi-processing on D620 APIC image is a must, and this simply won't run on D600 (which is supposed to be a very modern PC and will be in production in many comapnies for a long time).
Anyone?
