Dell Vostro 3560 Restore Factory Settings

Hi,

I bought Dell Vostro 3560 with Win8 pro 64bit image.

I wanted to restore to factory default and reinstall win8 but I can't find a way to do it.

Pressing f12 on boot start shows advanced boot options but I can't find any path that leads to restore option.

Any idea?

Thanks.

OmerDell,

If memory serves me correctly, Press and hold shift, then click on restart your computer.

Hi Eran,

If at any  point you have to restore the operating system back to the condition it is in now, Dell provides a partition on your hard drive to make this an easy process, however, if you should delete that partition or if your hard drive were to ever become corrupt or damaged, you will need the recovery media to reinstall Windows. These discs should be kept in a safe place that you will remember, and should be labeled for easy recognition.

The link below has useful instructions on how to perform a Manual Reinstall of Windows 8, in case the same is required. Follow the instructions carefully prior to initiating the installation as all saved data would be lost once Windows is re-installed. It is also recommended that you back up all relevant data on your system prior to initiating the same.

Hi Babita

I indeed accidently deleted my recovery partition (to make a long story short: I though it was the Intel Rapid Start partition)

I got from my local Dell support a DVD with plain / regular / "empty" Windows 8 Pro.

I installed the OS but I am now missing all the drivers and programs that were pre-installed on my computer.

I managed to download SOME program from dell website, not all of them.

The bigger problem is with the drivers - since Dell System Detect is not working (it asks for an update every time).

Since the recovery media has only Win8 and is not an actual image of the system I am still missing some programs and driveres.

In addition, your link keads to Windows 7 re-installation, but I have Windows 8 Pro.

What should I do? Why is Dell System Detect not working for me?

Hi Eran,

Thank you for your reply.

Since you have already performed a clean installation of Windows 8, you would not see any of the pre-installed programs/softwares which would have been available if you were able to do a factory image restore. The basic drivers for your system are available on the Support website however, for factory-installed softwares, please click on the link below for relevant information and steps to access "My Dell Downloads" .

My Dell Downloads contains certain software titles that are installed on your system at the time of purchase. It allows you to access and download these software titles to your hard drive. You can choose to reinstall a title or create a backup copy on an external storage device (for example, a DVD or a USB Key).

Hope this resolves the issue. Please reply if you need further assistance. We would be happy to help.

Hi Babita

The most important issue is that Dell System Detect does not work, and therefore I can't install and appropriate updated drivers on my computer.

Everything else is less important.

It's the drivers issue that keeps me from going forward.

How do I make Dell System Detect work on my computer?

Hi Eran,

Please accept my apologies. Understanding that you had already accessed the Support Website, I incorrectly assumed that you would have been successful in installing the drivers from the Support website as you mentioned you were successful in downloading some of the drivers.

Since the Dell System Detect is not working correctly, (the reason for which may be a pop-up blocker on your browser), please click on the link below to access the Vostro 3560 drivers page.

Additionally, the link below has helpful information and instructions on how to use the Dell Drivers & Downloads Website.

If you want to know the original system configuration on your computer, please click on "System Configuration" and then "Original Configuration" on the first link mentioned above.

In case you are facing issues with installing any specific drivers, let me know so that I am able to assist you correctly.

Thanks and regards,

Hi

The problem is not with a specific driver. The problem is that system detect is not working, therefore I don't know which drivers I need and if they are all up to date or need an update.

Can you help me fix the dell system detect? Pop-up blocker is turned off and still I get the same message every time:

Dell System Detect Update Required

Please install the newest version of Dell System Detect in order to complete your task.

Here’s how:

1. In your computer's task bar (lower right corner) find the Download Manager icon: Dell Download Manager

2. Right click on the icon and select "Exit" from the menu.

3. Once you have exited, return to this window and click the                                  Install Now                                 button below to continue.
