Yeh maybe I'm living in a dream world when I stated that comment, however might be an idea to write to Mr.. Michael Dell or the designers @ Dell.
Yeh I got in touch with Dell UK they clearly stated that the Dell M2010 is discontinued for good and when I asked whether an upgraded model would be released they said they had no idea what will happen.
So fingers crossed Dell produce a new line which will out class the HP Pavilion HDX because I have to admit I do like that machine if it had a detachable keyboard and a DVD/CD Rom slot I would have purchased one even though I'm a loyal Dell customer.
So I think I will wait till Christmas and see if Dell come up with a new design concept for the M2010.
I would Have to say YES The M2010 is going away - In the US only the 1.8 GHz CPU is available and the Blu-Ray is only on the Small Bus.. site and No Longer configurable for Home users.
As to whither or not Dell is going to come out with a similar Trans Portable Desk Top Replacement is a Good Question.
I think it would do good with the New Mobile Quad Core CPU and add a few things like 2 ESata Ports that can run in RAID 0 or 1, Allow 2 320GB 7200 Rpm HD internal, Blu-Ray Drive, Top End Video and change the Screen to a WUXGA possibly a 24" (1980X1200) and a top end Audio card, HDMI(With Sound) as well as DVI Out and keep the fire wire, Just a few Enhancements and call it the Ultimate HD Video Package able to Edit and Master and Record HD Video on Blu-Ray.
Would make for a Nice Easy to Move Video Editing System. And probably a Good Gaming Box you can take with you.(even on a Plane as Carry On)
That's the sort of Laptop I had in mind, but won't the 24" inch screen make it look way too big for it to be classified as a Laptop although I have to say that would be marvelous.
I also like the specs you've mentioned although I have to top that I would also like to see Dell change their Graphics Card to Nvidia opposed to ATI.
It's all a question whether Dell would be prepared to do this because I have to say HP are ahead of their game I mean the HP Pavilion HDX is such an amazing machine and the design looks wonderful, I'm tempted in purchasing one but I have to say I'm a loyal Dell customer and I'm thinking about hanging on for a while.
I would still like to see the sleeping giant (Dell) to wake up and suprise us all.
Count yourself lucky. The M2010 is a piece of junk. Mine has had both the motherboard and video card replaced twice. Dell support is worthless. Go with a nice desktop and count your blessings that you haven't purchased this paper weight.

Welcome to the forums :smileyhappy:
In your dreams :smileyvery-happy:
These are simply the community forums... frequented by fellow XPS laptop owners/potential XPS laptop owners.
Heck... we don't even see official Dell MODs/Admins in here... never mind the company CEO :smileysurprised:
Only Dell UK can tell you why the XPS 2010 has been pulled from the UK site?
But if you're determined to own one... it is still available from a number of other online sources ;)
