Enhanced CD won't play

I am having problems playing a CD on my laptop and I would greatly appreciate any advice.  The CD will play in a regular CD player, but when I put it in my computer it does not play.  I can hear it trying to spin, but nothing happens.  This is an audio CD, that has a DVD recording on the other side.  It is an enhanced music CD purchased from a store.  I don't care about the video, I just want the tracks to play from the audio side.  I want to know if there is something I can do so the CD will play or is there a reason this type of music CD can't be read from my computer (so, I can avoid purchasing in the future).

My laptop uses Windows XP Pro.
I am trying to read the CD using Windows Media Player 10.
My drive is a 24X CD Burner/DVD Combo Drive.

Thanks,
