HD5470 in-game graphics issues, texture skewing.
Hi, I bought a brand new Dell studio 1558 laptop back in august, and have had no problems with it so far.
However I had noticed a slight problem with the graphics in-game. Some textures would appear to be slighty fuzzy, such as the car textures in flatout and player textures in fifa 06. This happens in the majority of games I play. Although I tried graphics updates, the problem stuck so I ignored it as it did not affect the game much.
I then noticed that on a small amount of games I experienced bad texture skewing, including games such as Star Wars KOTOR 2, Borderlands and Mount & Blade: Warband. The latter 2 I bought in the recent steam sales. After discovering they were unplayable I thought it was time to sort this out!
This picture (mount&Blade: warband) is just an example of what happens:
Took with my camera because for some reason printscreen only showed a black screen.
(the texture skewed is my lance... also when the graphics weren't stretching, all the weapons in the game were invisible for some reason)
I have updated my drivers, and ran the dell diagnostic tests on the bootup menu. I thought it may be possible my card had corrupted memory or something, but the tests showed no problems.
Out of ideas and can't find the problem anyway else.. please help!
Edit: forgot to attach some computer information.
