How can I determine the maximum resolution a laptop will support?
I've been looking at used laptops to use with a 4K TV such as the Dell Latitude E6430 with the nVidia via HDMI. I'm also looking at other Dell laptops also. How can I determine the maximum resolution a laptop will support?
Thanks!

Hello,
The Latitude E6430 had the Nvidia NVS 5200M video card option. Via HDMI that card can support up to 1920 by 1080 video resolution. A 4k TV is, I believe, at 4096x2160 resolution so you would not get the full resolution capability of that TV from that Latitude E6430.
You would need to go with a higher end video card that has the capability to hit 4096x2160 resolution. The Latitude line is geared more towards business users and won't, for the most part, have higher end video cards. You may want to look at the XPS line or even Alienware or Mobile Precision Workstations.
The best way to figure out what it will support is to find out what make and model of video card is in the system and either look at the Tech Specs on the Dell pages or google it to find out.
I hope this helps.
