How do I disable the flashing battery light?

How do I disable the flashing battery light on my Inspiron 6000?

I don't care if the battery needs replacing nor do I care about "A Concerned Warning about Batteries" by the moderators here. I'm not giving anymore money back to Dell and will be purchasing Compaq products in the future. I've checked to see if my battery number is in the list for the recall and it is one digit off. So since this problem started exactly one month after my warranty expired and since Dell won't acknowledge that they make defective products unless they start exploding, I'm asking this forum how I might disable the flashing light on my notebook because it's starting to give me a headache. I've tried updating my BIOS as well as removing the battery pack for 30 minutes. Neither worked.

Please and thank you for any information you might have on disabling this absurd feature that Dell thought was a good idea.

You can't disable it, so you have three options:

Live with it,

Remove the battery, or

Replace the battery.

No, actually, you forgot the 4th option: black tape.

Would that be the one Toshiba just settled? Or Apple? Or Sony?

If you think Dell is alone, look around.
