How to set Laptop to maximum clock speed ?
When we boot up, we can go and see in the setup wich are the processor's speed.
General Speed : 2.00ghz
Minimum clock : 800mhz
Maximum clock : 2.00ghz
The problem is when I open a game as Steam, Cs:s, it is automaticly put down to 800 so I get real problem with running the game. Anybody knows how to set it to maximum ?
I've tried to set the maximum performance in Dell quickset and still doesn't make anything.

Go into control panel, then power options, and then under power schemes, select "always on". This should force the processor to it's maximum. You may be throttling down due to heat or some other issue though. Not sure from reading your post.

Yeah, I've settle it down about an hour ago, (read alot on the net) and yes, this is the thing to do to get your processor to reach 2.00ghz.
Always on --- Battery and AC power will both always be to 2.00ghz
Home and Office desk --- Battery will clock at 800, AC power will be to 2.00ghz.

Centrino Hardware Control gives you the ability to fix the clock speed (and many other things). Personally, I stick with dynamic switching (one of its options), because it keeps the temperatures down. If you run it at max clock speed all the time it generates a lot more heat. However, if I want to benchmark it or run a game I sometimes set it to Max Performance. There is also a Max Battery which locks the CPU at its slowest speed.
A brilliant little piece of software...
