Inspiron E1705 driver issue after Windows 7 install

Question

I installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my Inspiron E1705. After the install & downloading all of the updates I noticed that I was missing a couple of drivers on my device manager. It says that they are Base System Device. I understand from various groups that these may be something to do with the MediaDirect button. Any advice will be appreciated. Also, my bios is 2.4 & I saw that the latest version is 10. I tried using the Windows based flash & that does not work. Any advise will be appreciated as well. Thank you for your time. P.S. do you have any suggestions for updating my bios?

THIS is the latest bios verions A10. bios updates should always be approached with caution as a bad flash, though very uncommon nowadays, can render a system totally useless.

So look at what the bios update fixes/address. Determine if you will benefit from the update.

I you decide to update make sure you are on AC power.

Thanks for that info. I thought that I needed to update the bios because the one I have right now is the original, 2.4. I figured there has to have been some sort of improvements from 2.4 to 10.

The link works for me but you need to download the Ricoh Driver
