Inspiron N5010 power issue, need help!

Hey guys!

Started having issues with the battery on my Inspiron N5010 a few months ago, then the AC adapter physically broke (part snapped inside the jack on the laptop itself), so made things worse. I was getting the 'plugged in, not charging' and also the 'consider replacing your battery'. I initially tried the usual clean the battery and connections and holding power button for 30 secs with battery removed.

So first, I ordered a new AC adapter, this made it now SAY it was charging but even after hours of leaving it be, it never improved.  So then ordered a new battery, this made the 'consider replacing...' message go away but still exactly the same as before. The only other thing I could think of as I think I may have damaged it when the AC adapter had snapped in it, was the jack itself. I didnt want my first attempt at soldering to be on my laptop so I bought a whole new daughter board and installed it today.

Still no different!!! I currently get 'plugged in, charging, 40%' and the little battery icon fills up 5 times (like usual charging) when starting up, then stops around 40% mark and never moves. The charge holds fine, just does not actually charge up. I am now completely out of ideas and have spent so much time and money on this already!

Any help would be absolutely amazing! Thanks :)

You've isolated the problem pretty well - the only thing left is a bad mainboard.
